Navy Chief participates in 24th Seapower Symposium in US

Pakistan Naval Chief Admiral Muhammad Ajmal Khan Niazi visited America to participate in the 24th International Seapower Symposium (ISS) in which more than 100 nations’ senior naval leaders and coast guards took part, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
According to the Pak Navy spokesperson, the participants of the symposium discussed cooperative strategies to enhance maritime security.
Pak Navy Chief Adm Niazi held important meetings with US Secretary of Navy Carlos Del Toro and other senior leaders of the American Navy.
The Naval Chief also called on his counterparts of Argentina, France, Germany, Ghana, Japan, Sri Lanka, and Turkey and conferred over strategies to enhance collaboration to boost maritime security.
The spokesman also divulged that Adm Niazi also visited US Surface Warfare School where he briefed the audience regarding the rising global challenges to the maritime domain and how to tackle them.
This year’s ISS theme was “Strength in Unity,” and keynote speakers included author Simon Sinek, and Rear Adm (Ret) David Titley, national academies climate communications initiative committee chairman. Panel sessions also included discussions on COVID-19; international security implications of climate change; security in the arctic; seapower in the information age; and mental health and spiritual readiness.
