Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani on Friday filed a petition against Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice (CJ) Justice Sarfraz Dogar, under Article 183/2, challenging Justice Dogar’s decisions and declaring the same as null and void, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In his petition, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani stated that “Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar’s decision to take back cases from other judges is illegal”.

The other five judges of the Islamabad High Court also challenged the decision. The petition stated that “to restrict a judge from performing his or her legal duties is a violation of law. Only a judge can be barred from performing his legal duties under Article 209.”

The other five judges filed the petition under Article 184/3.

The petition states that as per the rule of Article 202, a chief justice can constitute a bench, and the idea of Master of Roster has already been declared as null and void by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

In the petition, Justice Mohsin Kiyani urged the court to declare all notifications of administrative committees from February 3, 2025, to July 15, 2025, and their decisions as null and void.
