Partial solar eclipse to grace skies on September 21–22, not visible in Pakistan

The Pakistan Meteorological Department’s Climate Data Processing Center has announced that the second solar eclipse of 2025 will occur on the night of September 21 and continue into September 22.

According to the schedule, the eclipse will begin at 10:30 PM Pakistan Standard Time on September 21, reaching its peak at 12:42 PM on September 22, before ending at 2:54 PM.

However, the Met Office clarified that the eclipse will not be visible in Pakistan. Instead, skywatchers in certain regions of the Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Antarctica, and Australia will be able to witness the celestial event.

This marks the second solar eclipse of the year, with experts highlighting its significance for scientific observation, though its absence from the skies of Pakistan means local enthusiasts will have to rely on international coverage and satellite feeds.
