PTI hails Pak-Saudi defence pact, demands details for public clarity
Says strategic mutual defence deal seen as Muslim unity milestone
The major opposition party in the country, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has welcomed the Pakistan-Saudi Arabia Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement (SMDA) and urged the government to share its details with the public, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday.
In a statement issued today, PTI said that the agreement, signed on September 17, 2025, in Riyadh, represents a renewal of the historic ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
PTI added that the accord reflects Islamic brotherhood, shared interests, and long-standing cooperation.
The party noted that enhanced defence and security collaboration between the two Muslim nations would contribute positively to regional stability.
Emphasising the vision of its founding leader, PTI said Imran Khan has always regarded Pakistan as a country capable of uniting the Muslim world.
The agreement, the party asserted, is an important step toward Muslim unity and collective security, as the protection of the Haramain Sharifain is a matter of faith for every Pakistani.
The party further demanded that the government disclose more details of the SMDA to the public.
PTI also expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s consistent and unwavering support to Pakistan, adding that cooperation between the two brotherly nations would foster peace, stability, and prosperity.
