Farid Express engine catches fire near Kahror Pakka, no causality reported

The engine of the Farid Express caught fire near Kahror Pakka Railway Station on Friday, forcing the Karachi-to-Lahore train to halt. The fire erupted in the GEU-20 engine of the 37-Up Farid Express. The no loss of life was reported. 
Passengers were compelled to wait for a replacement of engine and children and families were reporting severe difficulties due to heat, hunger and a lack of water.

The passengers said the train had already been running two hours late before the engine caught fire.
The station master said the Multan office had been informed about the need for a replacement engine, adding that the train would depart if the replacement engine arrived by 6pm.
