Mishi Khan gives Rajab Butt a blunt reality check over actor's remarks
Pakistani actress Mishi Khan has responded to Rajab Butt’s remarks about television actors, money and social media popularity, saying artists are not interested in his earnings, cars or number of followers.
Mishi shared her response on Instagram after Rajab compared his online audience with the viewership of television dramas while reacting to criticism from actress Sehar Khan.
In her response, Mishi said artists had nothing to do with how much money Rajab makes, how many cars he owns or how many followers he has. She questioned why such things were being brought into a discussion that was originally about his remarks.
According to Mishi, she and other artists had raised an issue because of the language Rajab used while speaking about child abuse during a live session. She stressed that their criticism was about what he said, rather than his lifestyle, wealth or online following.
Mishi also questioned Rajab’s comparison with television actors and made it clear that artists do not measure their worth through cars, money or social media numbers.
Her response came after Rajab lashed out at Sehar Khan following her criticism of his earlier remarks. In his response, Rajab claimed that the audience watching his content was much larger than the audience for television dramas. He also referred to his management team and said it had stopped him from responding more strongly to people criticising him.
The exchange followed backlash over an old TikTok Live video featuring Rajab and digital creator Zaid Ali. During the livestream, Rajab made an inappropriate remark related to child abuse, which drew criticism from celebrities and social media users.
Rajab later apologized for the comment and admitted that what he had said was inappropriate and a serious mistake. Despite the apology, the issue continued to attract reactions from public figures, including Sehar Khan.
