PTI founder and former prime minister Imran Khan on Tuesday urged accountability court of Islamabad to order comprehensive medical check-up of his wife after she was “poisoned” at their Banigala residence after its turned to a sub-jail, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

During proceedings pertaining to 190 million pounds reference, Imran Khan informed accountability court judge Nasir Javed Rana that Bushra Bibi has marks on her skin and tongue after she her food was “spiked”.

Imran Khan prayed to the court to order Bushra’s complete medical checkup, and that, too, from Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital doctor.

“I know who is behind all this,” Imran said, adding, “If anything bad happens to my wife, the ‘establishment’ will be responsible for that.”

The PTI founder further said that intelligence people were controlling all the things at his Banigala residence and the Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.

The former prime minister said that earlier a junior doctor had examined her. “But we don’t trust him,” he said categorically.

The court directed Imran to submit a detailed application for Bushra’s medical examination.

Later talking to the newsmen inside Adiyala Jail, Bushra Bibi claimed that she was poisoned during her detention a month ago which was the reason for her illness.

After coming out of the courtroom, Bushra tried to talk to a Vlogger but the jail administration did not allow her to the Vlogger in separation so she started addressing the media persons.

Bushra said during the last hearing, she spoke about the threats to the life of Imran Khan but the media did not report it. She said some people are spreading rumours in the party about her that she is an American agent.

Bushra said three drops of 'Harpic' (a brand name of an acid used for cleaning the toilet in Pakistan) were added to her food on the eve of Shab-e-Miraj [on February 08, 2024] and the research revealed that such a dose of Harpic affects the human body after one month and also it affected her health. “My eyes started to swell and I also felt pain in my chest and stomach. The taste of the food and water also felt bitter,” she added.

Bushra Bibi said that someone had also told her in the jail that Harpic was added to the food. She refused to disclose the name of her informer.

Bushra reiterated her claim that some poisonous thing was also added in her honey and now her food is spiked with Harpic. She said that she has been kept respectfully in Banigala sub-jail, adding earlier the windows of the residence were kept closed but now they were opened for some time.

When a journalist asked her about the proof of her claim, Bushra just said from where she would bring the evidence.

Anyhow, the journalists protested against Bushra Bibi's attitude on which Imran Khan urged them to ignore it as she has never dealt with the media people. “Please don’t take her words seriously,” he added.
