The Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah announced to bear the medical expenses of Akbar Liaquat Ali Khan, son of Late Quaid-e-Millat Liaquat Ali Khan, after the latter's wife wrote a letter to the Sindh authorities seeking assistance in medical expenses, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Sindh CM also directed the Sindh Chief Secretary to provide Rs2 million monthly stipend to the Akbar Liaquat Ali Khan who has been going through challenging times.

Sindh Spokesperson Murtaza Wahab shared the development in a tweet,” Sindh government will bear all medical expenses of Akbar Liaqat Ali Khan Sb & also provide an allowance to the son of our 1st Prime Minister to take care of his daily expenses. Orders have been issued by the Chief Minister Sindh.”

The wife of Akber Liaquat Ali Khan, son of Late Quaid-e-Millat Liaquat Ali Man, Dure Liaquat All Khan wrote a letter to Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah about the deteriorating health issues of her husband for the last three years,

In a letter, Dure Liaquat Ali Khan said, “In September 2020 the doctors asked him to begin dialysis and he has been going three times a week to the Kidney Center for dialysis. Along with this, he has monthly appointments with various doctors which require several blood and other tests and medications. He has in the past year had to be hospitalized at the Aga Khan Hospital twice to have a fistula operation carried out for the purpose of dialysis.

“All of these treatments have been extremely expensive. The monthly cost of dialysis comes to Rs. 105,000; the monthly tests, medication, Injections and doctors' visits come to approximately Rs. 30,000. There is an attendant (day and night) also with him, which costs Rs 40,000 monthly. His two hospital stays within the past year have cost us approximately Rs 12 lacs (Rs.600000 for each hospitalization).”

The letter reads, “The total cost of all these treatments (without hospitalization) monthly Is approximately Rs. 175,000. Our 2 daughters have been contributing towards paying for these costs, as the savings my husband has invested in various term deposits which provides us with monthly income to manage the household. The house we live in belongs to me and was given to me by my mother.

“I am writing to you with the hope that you will be able to provide some relief to my husband in his time of need, whose parents gave their lives and wealth in service to this country,” Dure Liaquat Ali Khan said.
