Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Miftah Ismail said on Wednesday that the anti-masses budget of the federal government would not be passed as some of the ruling party’s members would be against Imran Khan in the budget.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, he was addressing a press conference flanked with PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb and Tariq Fazal Chaudhry in Islamabad.

He said Imran Khan had taken Pakistan on a difficult path as 8.5 million people in the country had become unemployed and more than 75 million people were living below the line of poverty.

Miftah said they would expose the worst performance of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the last two years in their party’s pre-budget seminar tomorrow.

He said inflation had raised by 17 percent in May and it never fell from 10 percent in two years of PTI government but the income of Prime Minister Imran Khan and his cabinet members increased.

The PML-N leader said electricity prices had gone up by an average of 21 percent this year, while the income of the common man had gone down. He alleged that PM Imran Khan had also damaged the accountability process in the country.

He said the people would not allow the budget of this government to be passed, even the members of Imran Khan would also not support him in the budget. During the press conference, Miftah Ismail became confused when a journalist asked "How did your company make double profits this year when the economy was ruined?" Miftah Ismail said there was no link between his company’s profit and the country’s economy.

PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb trying to cover him by asking the journalist, “What kind of this question”.
