Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has changed SOPs for flights coming from Saudi Arabia and made Covid-19 test mandatory for all passengers coming to Pakistan from Saudi Arabia from May 5, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

The PCAA clarified and put a ban that Covid-19 positive incoming passengers will not be allowed to travel to Pakistan.

The Covid-19 test should be conducted within 72 hours. It has been notified that children under the age of 12 and people with disabilities are exempted from the condition of mandatory corona test.

The national aviation regulator said if the corona PCR test results come positive that the passenger would have to quarantine on his or her own expenses.

Pakistan has paced up measures to curb the third wave of deadly coronavirus and significantly reduced the foreign airlines to stem the virus intake. Pakistan has officially confirmed Brazilian and South Africa virus variants reported in the country.

Pakistan had already reduced the international flights from 590 flights to 123 at all eight international airports.
