Gomal Uni VC withdraws resignation, will move court

The vice-chancellor of Gomal University, Dera Ismael Khan, has withdrawn his resignation, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
Vice-Chancellor Iftikhar Ahmed has now decided to take the matter of his forced retirement and bifurcation of the Gomal University into an agricultural university to the court.
Reportedly, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mehmood Khan has demanded an answer from the secretary agriculture on the objections raised by VC Iftikhar Ahmed.

The vice-chancellor had submitted his resignation to the higher education department last month. He was perturbed over government's decision to upgrade the university’s agricultural department to an agricultural university.

He wrote a letter to Prime Minister Imran Khan requesting him to intervene in the matter. The HEC objected to his endeavor to write a letter to the PM and asked him to provide an explanation within 10 days. The VC submitted his response along with his resignation letter. However, his resignation was not accepted by Governor Shah Farman.
A few days later, the authorities had sent him on forced leave.
