Arrangements are complete for the PTI’s public gathering to be held in Gujrat today as the stage has been set and chairs have been placed at Chaudhry Zahoor Elahi Stadium of the city, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.  

Former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan will address the charged crowd in the evening. 

Yesterday (Thursday, September 1, 2022), Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and his son Moonis Elahi inspected the arrangements being made at the stadium. 

On the other hand, the administration, in a bid to make the venue look shorter, has fenced it. 

PTI’s Fawad Ch takes notice of IGP’s statement: 

Following the statement by the inspector general of Police (IGP), Islamabad that Rs20 million are being spent every month on the security of the PTI chairman, PTI Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry has sought from the interior minister details of the total expenditures incurred.   

Fawad has said that ever since the imported government has taken office, there are serious risks to Imran’s life. “The statistics given by the IGP are part of the propaganda against the former prime minister and are matter of grave concern,” he added. 

PTI leader has also asked the interior minister to prove his claim that 266 police personnel are deployed for the former prime minister’s security. “No doubt Imran is the most popular political leader of the country. And just like it is the basic duty of the government to guard citizens against all kinds of risks, similarly it is also bound to provide security to the PTI chairman,” Fawad emphasized. 

However, he reminded that there was a huge difference between Imran and the crooks currently forming the coalition government. “To have a lavish lifestyle at state expenses is something Sharifs and Zardaris are addicted to, and not Imran,” he said, adding Sharifs had wasted Rs364 million on the security of their Raiwind Palace; the amount that actually belonged to the people of Punjab. “They also deployed at least 3, 000 policemen for the security of their palace,” he said, and added, “On the contrary, as soon as Imran became the country’s prime minister, he put an end to all such extravagance and lead a simple life. He lived at his Banigala residence, and not at the PM House. So much so that he even paid for building a wall around his residence from his own pocket.”

PTI leader reminded that the former prime minister saved the country millions of rupees every year by cutting down expenses on foreign tours. “We also have with us the letter which the government wrote to the party for arranging the security of our chairman on our own,” he concluded.
