Four more children defeat coronavirus at Children's Hospital in Lahore
There is some news amid the devastating pandemic as four more children fully recovered from coronavirus at the Children’s Hospital in Lahore.
It means a total of six children have so far defeated the virus at the city’s top specialised hospital.
The latest development comes after a 15-month-old girl and a six-year-old boy were discharged after recovering from the coronavirus on April 10.
According to Dr Saleem, an isolation ward is working at the health facility. A total of 16 patients had been brought for treatment out which it was confirmed nine were infected by the virus.
He said three children were still under treatment at the hospital while seven had been sent home after being tested negative.
There has been an impression that the coronavirus targets elderly people only, but the fact is that the majority of patients in Pakistan are less than 50 years of age.
The first case of a child being infected was reported in Wuhan – the Chinese city where the coronavirus originated – when a newborn was tested positive just 30 hours after birth.
