US envoy praises Pakistan’s ‘sincere’ efforts for peace in region
Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi on Monday visited the US embassy in Islamabad and met with American Charge d'Affaires in Pakistan Natalie Baker and discussed security arrangements for expected peace talks between the US and Iran, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
A detailed discussion was held on the prevailing situation in the region as well as further strengthening Pak-US relations.
Security arrangements made for the second round of talks between the US and Iran also came under discussion at the meeting.
Naqvi briefed the US envoy on the arrangements made for the security of foreign guests who would arrive in Islamabad for the talks. “We have made special arrangements for our guests,” the minister told the envoy.
Natalie, on the occasion, praised Pakistan’s sincere efforts for reducing tensions in the region.
Director General FIA Dr Usman Anwar, Chief Commissioner Islamabad Sohail Ashraf, IGP Islamabad Ali Nasir Rizvi and Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Memon were also present on the occasion.

Security has visibly been stepped up in Islamabad in anticipation of the US-Iran negotiations. Authorities announced road closures and traffic restrictions across the federal capital, as well as in Rawalpindi.
