Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday inaugurated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf flagship project Sehat Sahulat Programme for 40 million people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that will benefit 1.8 million families, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

The KP government and State Life Insurance inked an agreement to provide Sehat Sahulat Programme facility through which people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be given Health Insurance through their CNICs.

Prime Minister said every family will be able to avail Rs10,00,000 free of cost treatment.

Imran Khan said, “I must say that your government must persuade people to have Sehat Isnaf Cards so that you can build database to monitor the people for future {policing}.”

He said, “Our dream is to make Pakistan a welfare state. The state of Madinah is the model for any state, whosoever follows the path, will be successful. We are following the path of the makers of Pakistan.”

Prime Minister said a poor family spends all his spending on treatment. “I will ask Punjab to bring such initiatives as this is a foundation step for better healthcare system in KP province. We will also work for Sehat Sahulat Programme in Balochistan province,” he further said. “We will provide land to hospitals and education institutions on lesser rates,” the premier said.

Imran Khan said with such initiatives public hospitals will be improving health standards and competing with other hospitals also. The premier, in his address, lauded the KP government for implementing the scheme and said: "You don't know the significance of the step you have taken. You will realise when people send prayers your way."

It is pertinent to note that Sehat Sahulat Programme is also providing free of cost indoor healthcare services to people below the poverty line, persons with disabilities, and transgender community who are registered in NADRA and has specialized CNICs’.
