Churails leading lady Sarwat Gilani revealed what went behind preparing for her challenging and unconventional role for the series.

Sarwat, who plays a lawyer turned trophy wife Sara in the series, has been garnering praises for her brilliant portrayal in this thriller.

Talking about the process in an interview, the actor said, “When I work on a project, I carve the character down. But, with a project under Asim, the description of the characters are so precise that I knew exactly what the demand of the character was. Also, I come from TV, film and theatre so, my way of acting was very different.”

The actress also talked about how she watched various shows and characters to play Sara, as she said, “So, he made me watch films and shows like The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Gone Girl, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries and Devil Wears Prada. Watching these shows allowed me to understand the body language and details of such mystery characters."

She further adds, "I also watched Big Little Lies to help me pick up the feeling of sisterhood. I am a little Bohemian and artsy so, I never paid a lot of attention to my body language, pace and posture. For Sara, I had to tone down my movements, actions and expressions.”

Apart from the out-of-the-box storyline and brilliant execution, Churails has also been garnering attention and rave reviews for its performances.

Starring an ensemble cast that also includes Yasra Rizvi, Nimra Bucha, and Mehar Bano, Churails is a character-driven, unconventional story.
