The federal government on Friday decided to change the chief of the motorway police, Inspector General (IG) Dr Kaleem Imam.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, the establishment division had sent the summary of the replacement of the IG Motorway to Prime Minister Imran Khan.

In the summary, the report said, the establishment division included three names of high officials to replace Dr Kaleem.

The report said two officers of the highest grade of 22, Wajid Zia and Faisal Shahkar and one of grade 21, Aftab Ahmad Pathan were proposed in the list for the next IG Motorway.

Senior-most officer Wajid Zia was serving as the Director General of the National Police Bureau nowadays.

About the appointment of the new IG Motorway, the final decision would be taken by the Prime Minister and the establishment division would issue the notification after his approval.
