Celebrities voice their concerns over disaster mismanagement in Karachi
Many celebrities from Karachi voiced their concerns and frustration, taking to their Instagram handles, over the disaster mismanagement as the roads became canals.
As heavy rain once again lashed Karachi leaving roads submerged, the citizens worried about their problems compounded with choked drains and flooded highways and underpasses.
According to the report, areas including Shahrah-e-Faisal, PECHS, Saddar, Shah Faisal, Sindhi Muslim Society, Bizerta Lines, Tariq Road, Frere Hall, Jinnah Hospital, Gulistan-e-Johar, the airport, and adjoining localities were hit by torrential downpours.
All the celebrities, being citizens of Karachi had to go through the same inconveniences.
Faysal Qureshi took to his Instagram stories and shared a poetic taunt pointed at the government. In another, he bashed the government and the public saying that the public is never going to say anything and the politicians are going to keep fooling them and shutting them up. This exact script will repeat and yet again the public will remain silent.
Sanam Saeed mentioned the Government of Pakistan and Government of Sindh saying, “Please give us answers and solutions. Literally nothing ever changes and Khi drowns every year.”
Adnan Siddiqui shared a video of a man flowing in the torrent saying, “Our infrastructure is like a good magician, now you see it, now you’re swimming in it. Hang on there, Karachi! You are trained to year after year.”
Sehar Khan shared her disappointment also taking to her stories saying. She said, “Karachi, what happening to you… just left shoot and heading home this really hurts????roads look like a sea is there any system at all??? Or is this Karachi after every rain????.”
Iqra Aziz shared a video on her story showing jammed traffic and the road over flooded with water. She said that the blessing has turned into a curse for the public.
