Gas loadshedding worsens people’s woes in Karachi

With the onset of the cold weather, the gas crisis in Karachi has intensified as gas supply to industrial areas has been suspended under the Gas Load Management Plan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

Gas supply to all industrial zones of the city has been suspended on Sunday while gas supply to industrial zones will remain closed till 8 am on Monday.

The TV channel reported CNG stations across Sindh have now reopened after 24 hours as all stations across the province previously shut down due to low gas pressure.

All RLNG stations also reopened, the TV channel reported.

On the other hand, gas load shedding in Karachi worsened the gas availability crises as it takes hours now instead of minutes to prepare food amid low gas pressure.

The TV channel reported even on holidays, residents of Karachi cannot prepare their food in time at family gatherings.

Residents of Gulshan-e-Iqbal are facing low gas pressure as gas load shedding has become a ‘new normal’ in Karachi.

The TV channel reported despite the shutdown of gas to commercial consumers, the pressure of domestic consumers could not be brought back to normal.

In Multan, household women are worried over gas load shedding in harsh winters’ days and expressed that it has become difficult to make breakfast amid low gas pressure.

While, if one household arranges an extra gas cylinder in addition to the already fitted gas connection, then it has its own cost and not every can afford this, the TV channel reported quoting household women in Multan.
