PM Imran pays fine to have Bani Gala private residence regularised
Maryam Nawaz says poor people's houses are being demolished, but 'selected' one's has been regularised
Prime Minister Imran Khan has got his Bani Gala residence regularised from the Capital Development Authority (CDA) after paying more than Rs1.2 million fine.
According to official documents, the prime minister’s private residence has been regularised under CDA’s Building Rules, 2020.
The prime minister’s residence has six large rooms, a drawing room, dining hall, playroom and office and all these structures are part of the building plan, which has been approved by the CDA. The total area of the prime minister’s residence is 11,371 feet.
The CDA says its regulations already allowed regularisation of farm houses. It says that 150 applications have been received from the Bani Gala neighbourhood for regularisation of building plans. It says the Buildings Wing of the CDA has approved six building plans so far. It says that other applications will also be considered as per the law.
As the news about regularisation of prime minister's broke out, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz came out with a strong reaction.
Responding to a tweet about the regularisation, Maryam said demolish poor people's houses, but regularise the "selected" one's house.
