Making mockery of PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s last-ditch effort to dissolve the provincial assemblies, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that it seems the former premier could not be able to play his last card as he has run out of this option, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Talking to media outside the office of Election Commission of Pakistan on Tuesday, the defence minister took a swipe at the PTI chief saying that the latter must be taken off guard as the PDM had submitted no-confidence motion to the Punjab Assembly.
“Imran used his last card by announcing to dissolve assemblies (on Dec 23). But it seems he is out of luck as the no-confidence motion has been brought in the Punjab Assembly. Imran is losing ground. The situation will become clear in the next few days, Kh Asif maintained.
He castigated Imran for his penchant for power. He said the PTI chief wanted this country as far as he ruled it. “If he (Imran) did not rule it, he would give a damn to it,” he added.
The minister said that new revelations were emerging each day in the Toshakhana case against the PTI chief.
He criticized Imran for lashing out at his benefactors. He said that former army chief General ® Qamar Javed Bajwa supported him all the time but now he turned against him.
