Court sentences fake spiritual healer to 20 years for child sexual abuse

A sessions court has sentenced a fake spiritual healer to 20 years in prison for sexually abusing a minor girl, along with a Rs 500,000 fine.

The sentence was handed down by the Additional District and Sessions Court, which was hearing the case of sexual assault against the young girl.

Police took fake spiritual healer Shakil Ahmed into custody immediately after the court delivered its verdict.

 According to reports, the accused had kept the girl as a domestic helper at his residence in Jhumra, where the abuse occurred.

The case was initially registered at Jhumra Police Station on the complaint of the girl’s mother.
