Former Zimbabwe batsman and head coach of Multan Sultans Andy Flower has said that Pakistan Super League (PSL) is a league of the best bowling attack.
“Pakistani bowlers are dominating the PSL bowling attack. Though franchises try to hire foreign big hitters Pakistan’s international recognition is because of its raw pace attack and ‘mystery’ spin bowling, and this recognition is getting more and more famous with every PSL,” said Andy Flower in an interview with BBC.
Responding to a question, Flower said “I am very pleased that owners of Multan Sultans contacted me and selected me after an interview. I’m looking forward to work with this franchise.”
He said “I was pleased also to see talented players in the first training session. It would be good to work with them. The team included experienced players like Shahid Afridi, Moeen Ali, Sohail Tanveer, Rilee Rossouw, Ravi Bopara, Junaid Khan, Muhammad Irfan and Imran Tahir. It also has talented players like Rohail Nazir, Muhammad Ilyas and Zeeshan Ashraf.”
To another query, the ex-Zimbabwe batsman said Ali Tareen had done a remarkable job by setting up a cricket academy in Lodhran providing an opportunity to talented players to come forward. “This academy has also acquired the services of foreign coaches which will not only benefit south Punjab but the whole country,” he added.
Flower said he had played against Mushtaq Ahmad and Azhar Mahmood but working with will be a good experience.
