JUI-F Shikarpur Ameer survives attempt on life

Unidentified persons opened indiscriminate fire at the vehicle of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) district Shikarpur Ameer Maulana Abdullah Mehr, while he was on his way to his village; the JUI-F Ameer, however, remained unhurt in the attack, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

The police said that the gunmen first tried to stop the vehicle. But when the driver tried to speed away the car, they opened fire at it.

The guards, accompanying Mehr, retaliated due to which the assailants fled, the Force added. 

The spokesman for the JUI-F said that soon after learning about the incident, the party workers as well as residents of the area reached the site and registered their protest. 

Police said they were trying to ascertain whether the incident was a robbery bid or the attackers wanted to murder the JUI-F leader.
