KP govt to release salaries, pensions early due to holidays
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to release salaries and pensions earlier than scheduled due to upcoming weekend holidays.
The government employees and retired officials will receive their payments on February 28 instead of March 1, as the first two days of March fall on Saturday and Sunday, both weekly holidays.
March 2 is likely to be a banking holiday due to Ramazan as the banks will make the Zakat deductions.
A statement from the provincial finance department confirmed the decision, stating, "Salaries for government employees and pensions for retired workers, originally due on 1 March, will now be disbursed on 28 February to avoid delays caused by the weekend."
The move ensures timely payments and avoids disruptions in financial transactions for public sector workers in the province.
