Parvez Elahi lays stress on upholding rule of law

A delegation of newly-elected office-bearers of Lahore Bar Association (LBA) called upon Punjab Assembly Speaker Parvez Elahi at his residence on Tuesday.
The Punjab Assembly speaker greeted them on their victory and expressed the hope that the new body will play its part for upholding rule of law.
Parvez urged the visitors to continue helping justice seeks and shed light on the lawyers’ contribution to nation-building and rule of law.
LBA President Malik Sarood, General Secretary Ahmad Saad Khan, Senior Vice-President Rana Shahid, Vice-President MH Shaheen, Lahore High Court Bar President Ch Tahir Nasrullah Warraich, Senator Kamil Ali Agha, Senior Advocate Jahangir A Jhoja, Assistant Advocate General Punjab Nadir were among the participants of the meeting.
Malik Sarood and Ch Tahir thanked the Punjab Assembly speaker for providing the lawyers with all-out support so that could play their role for supremacy of the law.
In the rule of PML-Q government, tehsil bars got due importance and the former Punjab government took steps to provide the lawyers with their due share in public service delivery, they recalled.
