Setting an example of honesty and uprightness, Motorway Police (MP) have returned cash as well as gold ornaments of worth Rs0.7 million to their rightful owner, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

According to reports, Absar, who was travelling from Islamabad to Peshawar along with his family via motorway, made a stopover at Swabi to listen to a phone call.

The moment he alighted from the car, his kids also followed him. As they were stepping out of the car in a rush, one of kids’ foot happened to hit a ladies’ purse placed on the backseat due to which it fell down onto the road. But nobody was aware that the purse, with cash, five tolas of gold ornaments and some important documents in it, had fallen.

Soon afterwards, Inspector Imtiaz Ahmed and Sub-inspector Shirin Taj, who were on routine patrolling, reached the site and found the purse lying on a roadside.

When they picked it up and searched it, they found a piece of paper with a cellphone number written on it. They dialed that number and managed to establish contact with Absar whose happiness knew no bounds.

He thanked both Inspector Imtiaz and Sub-inspector Shirin, while in appreciation of their honesty, DIG Motorway North Zone Mazharul Haq Kakakhel and Sector Commander M-1 Zeeshan Haider has announced rewards for both the MP personnel.
