A threat call received by the authorities at the Islamabad International Airport for a Malaysia-bound flight turned out to be a hoax but it caused quite a commotion at the airport on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The personnel of Airport Security Force (ASF) and other senior airport officials were in panic run as soon as they received the threat call for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight ready to take off for Kuala Lumpur.

A large number of ASF personnel rushed to the plane and moved the passengers to the briefing area. They scrutinized passengers’ documents and also thoroughly searched them and the aircraft.

After the three-hour futile exercise, the ASF jawans, as the sources said, could not trace any prohibited item either from the passengers or the plane.

After clearance of the passengers, the authorities allowed the plane to take off.
