SC issues notices to chief secys in disbanding minorities’ awards case

The Supreme Court on Friday issued notices to the chief secretaries of all the provinces on the disbanding of National Minorities Cultural Performance Award, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The court has sought a reply from the provinces regarding the closure of the minorities’ awards.
A three-judge bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Ijazul Ahsan heard a petition related to the conduct of National Minorities Cultural Performance Award.
Petitioner Samuel Piyara told the court that the National Minorities Cultural Performance Award was disbanded in 2012. He stated that the federal government said that the matter had gone to the provinces. But the provinces have made no progress on holding these awards.
The court has issued notices to the chief secretaries of the province seeking a reply from them on the matter.
