Social media-savvy robbers surrender to police in Ubauro

Two notorious robbers, long considered symbols of fear in the Sonmiani and Rajwani slums in the Ubauro area of Sindh, have surrendered to law enforcement authorities, police officials confirmed on Tuesday.

According to District Police Officer (DPO) Irfan Ali Sammo, the surrendered robbers have been identified as Qabil Sukhani and Murzada Dashti, both of whom were widely known on social media for their criminal activities. Each of the accused carried a government-announced reward of Rs10 million, bringing the total reward amount to Rs20 million.

DPO Irfan Ali Sammo stated that the Punjab government had announced the hefty rewards due to the suspects’ involvement in multiple serious crimes and their long-standing evasion of arrest. Their surrender marks a major breakthrough for the police in restoring peace to the affected slum areas.

A police spokesperson said the robbers voluntarily surrendered before DPO Irfan Ali Sammo, bringing an end to a prolonged manhunt. Security arrangements were tightened during the surrender to avoid any untoward incident.

Speaking after their surrender, Qabil Sukhani and Murzada Dashti expressed remorse over their past actions, stating that they wanted to repent and leave the world of crime behind. They said their goal now is to live a respectable life within society.

Police officials described the development as a significant success and expressed hope that the surrender would help improve law and order in the region and encourage other criminals to abandon violence and criminality.
