A marriage dispute claimed two lives in the Havelian area of Abbottabad, said 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday, as a boy and a girl were killed at a village.
The gruesome double murder was reported from Naka Burj Chahrr near Chamhad. The victims have been identified as Rashid Khan, son of Munsaf Khan, and 15-year-old (S), daughter of Shahnawaz.
On the other hand, reliable sources say police have managed to arrest the accused.
Honour killings and murders over marriage disputes are common in our country. Such incidents are reported regularly where the culprits in many cases do not face justice because of agreements reached through jirga and panchayat.
Last week, the bodies of a young couple were dumped in a canal after being murdered in Gujrat in yet another gruesome honour killing incident.
According to details, the 22-year-old girl and 19-year-old boy were killed at the same spot in the Kunjah area. However, the Kunjah Police Station officials did not register a case over the barbaric murder even after post-mortem report.
It is revealed that the boy was badly tortured before the murder as his eyes, nose and tongue were cut. He also received three bullets in his chest.
After the incident, the victim girl’s family members pretended that she was mentally disturbed and had committed suicide by jumping into the canal.
However, 24NewsHD unearthed the truth as the record shows that the two had a telephonic conversation before the murder. Moreover, they were in love with each other and planned to marry in the next few days.
