Shops, markets in Punjab to close at 9:00 PM from today

The Punjab government on Wednesday restored the notification for the closure of markets and shops in the province at 9:00 PM after giving relaxation in view of the religious festival of Eidul Azha, reported24NewsHD TV channel.
From today, all shops, markets, shopping centres will have to be closed at 9:00 PM, while the closure timings of all hotels, restaurants, cinemas and theatres will be 11:30 PM.
Similarly, the owners of marriage halls will have to wind up their business by 10:30 PM; however, petrol pumps, hospitals, medical stores and milk shops are exempted from these restrictions.
According to the new schedule, all shops will have one weekly off.
The provincial government had reduced working hours at these places as a part of its plan to save energy so that loadshedding hours could be curtailed.
