Cops in Lahore make mockery of traffic police’s crackdown on bikers sans helmets
Police personnel in Lahore have been found not taking the traffic police’s action against the motorcyclists not wearing helmets seriously, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
In one such instance, the traffic police personnel stopped two policemen riding a motorcycle on Canal Road.
When the traffic police demanded an identity card from one of the cops for the challan, the latter fled from the spot along with his colleague, leaving the motorcycle behind.
Sources in the traffic police said that both cops were deployed at Shadman police station.
They added that the number plate at the back of their motorcycle was broken as well.
Traffic wardens, however, said they would take action against the cops after seeking approval from their seniors.
