Canadian FM meets Field Marshal Asim Munir, discusses regional security

Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand called on Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at General Headquarters (GHQ) of the Pakistan Army in Rawalpindi on Monday.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security situation and bilateral relations between Pakistan and Canada.

Field Marshal Asim Munir highlighted Pakistan’s perspective on global peace and regional stability, emphasising the importance of cooperation and collective efforts to address common security challenges.

The visiting Canadian foreign minister appreciated Pakistan’s continued efforts and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and acknowledged its constructive role in promoting peace and stability in the region.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening Pakistan-Canada relations and expanding cooperation, particularly in the areas of defence and security.
