Dar emphasises stronger Pakistan-UAE ties in meeting with Ambassador Shafqat

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Monday reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to strengthening its longstanding brotherly relations with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during a meeting with Pakistan's Ambassador to the UAE, Shafqat Ali Khan.

During the meeting, Dar underscored the importance of the close and historic ties between Pakistan and the UAE and directed the ambassador to make sustained efforts to deepen bilateral cooperation across various sectors.

He particularly stressed the need to expand collaboration in the fields of economy and investment, highlighting their importance for enhancing mutually beneficial relations between the two countries.

The deputy prime minister also instructed Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan to take additional measures for the welfare and facilitation of the Pakistani community residing in the UAE, recognising their significant contribution to Pakistan's economy.

Dar further directed the ambassador to play an active role in promoting cooperation in all areas of mutual interest and to work towards creating new opportunities for partnership.

Reaffirming the government's commitment to strengthening bilateral ties, the deputy prime minister said Pakistan remained determined to take its relations with the UAE to new heights through enhanced political, economic and people-to-people engagement.
