Wife of ex-info secy Anwar Mehmood passes away

Wife of former federal information secretary Syed Anwar Mehmood passed away on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Her funeral prayers will be offered at 6pm today at H-8 graveyard, Islamabad.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb expressed condolences on the demise of the wife of former federal secretary Syed Anwar Mehmood.
“May Allah Almighty grant her a higher position in Jannah and grant patience to her family,” she said.
“She had a loving and caring personality who always gave respect to her guests as per the eastern traditions. She had always given good wishes and expressed goodwill to others,” Marriyum Aurangzeb said.
It is pertinent to mention that Syed Anwar Mahmood retired as Secretary to the Government of Pakistan in 2008 after heading the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. He now heads his own consultancy, media and government relations firm.
He has served for nearly six years, spread over two terms, as the Federal Information Secretary and the government’s chief spokesman. He has headed many media organizations as Chief Executive or as Chairman of the Board, including PTV, PBC, SRBC, APP, and the Press Information Department.
