Indian singer Tapu Mishra loses life while battling coronavirus

Renowned Indian singer Tapu Mishra has breathed her last while receiving treatment for coronavirus complications at a private hospital in Indina city of Bhubaneswar on Sunday.
Tapu Mishra was first in self-isolation at her home after testing positive for the Covid-19. But, later she was rushed to a private hospital where she was put on ventilator support for the last many days.
Mishra’s lungs had suffered severe damage and oxygen levels had dipped dangerously due to which her family had sought help from Odisha Chief Minister to shift the popular singer to outside of the State for advanced treatment.
Tapu Mishra’s father had also succumbed to coronavirus infection last month.
Tapu Mishra had lent her melodious voice to a number of hit movie songs, albums and bhajans in her career spanning over two decades.
Making her debut from Kula Nandan movie, the versatile singer has gone on to spread her magical voice in over 150 films.
Condolences poured in from several quarters soon after the news of Tapu Mishra’s demise made headlines.
