PIA’s special flight brings 121 stranded Pakistanis from Baku to Islamabad

Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) special flight carrying 121 stranded Pakistanis from Iran arrived in Islamabad from Baku, Azerbaijan, on Friday afternoon.

These Pakistan nationals were stranded in Iran due to ongoing regional tensions and the closure of Iranian airspace.

These Pakistani nationals in Iran were transported overland to the Azerbaijani capital, Baku. From there, they were airlifted to Lahore on a specially arranged PIA flight.

According to official sources, the Pakistani embassies in both Iran and Azerbaijan played a pivotal role in facilitating the safe movement of citizens across the border and coordinating with local authorities to make the repatriation possible.

This special operation was conducted on the instructions of the federal government, emphasizing the state's commitment to protecting its citizens in times of crisis.

In a statement, PIA officials highlighted the airline’s dedication to national interest, even during difficult circumstances, reaffirming its role as a key pillar of Pakistan's international emergency response infrastructure.
