A new twist has taken into the alleged harassment case against Pakistan cricket captain Babar Azam as the person centre in the controversy Hameeza Mukhtar has claimed that Babar Azam's family has offered her Rs2million to take back the case, reported 24News HD TV channel Saturday.

She claimed that the family of the Babar Azam has offered her the settlement amount through a third party.

Earlier Pakistan cricket captain challenged a court’s decision to register a case against him on charges of blackmailing and harassment.

Additional Sessions Judge Hamid Hussain in Lahore had conducted the hearing on an application, moved by Hameeza Mukhtar, seeking registration of a case against Babar Azam in the FIA and ordered registration of a case against national cricket team captain Babar Azam.

Challenging the court’s decision, Babar Azam has made the Federal Investigation Agency and Hameeza Mukhtar as respondents.

The application stated that Babar Azam is Pakistan’s captain and the best player who has many international records to his name. It stated that a session court has ordered to register a case under Cyber Crime Act against Babar, which is against the Cyber Crime Rules 2018 and the court also did not mention the reasons to register a case against Babar Azam.

Babar prayed to the court to declare the trial court’s order null and void and suspend the trial court’s decision to register the case against the applicant till the final decision.

In November 2020, Hameeza hurled allegations of sexual and financial abuse against the mercurial batsman just before he was set to captain the Pakistan cricket team in all three formats during the New Zealand tour, he found himself into a huge controversy as a girl from Lahore.

Addressing a press conference Hameeza alleged that she was into a relationship with the cricketer even before he entered the cricket field. She said they lived in the same vicinity as Babar and both were school-fellows as well. In startling revelations, she claimed that Babar proposed to her in 2010 at her home but both her and Babar’s families did not agree to the proposal. Hameeza alleged that she eloped with Babar for court marriage in 2011 and they had lived then in different houses at Gulberg and Punjab Housing Society.

However, Babar refused to marry her taking into consideration the circumstances. Hameeza said she got a job and supported Babar financially and gave away all the income she earned from her saloon to Babar Azam. She claimed that she has played a key role in making Babar Azam a cricketer by financing him. She said she has come into the public to shed light on the sexual and financial exploitation she endured at the hands of Babar Azam.

She said Babar’s attitude towards her started changing as soon as he was selected for the national team. She said there were such circumstances that she could not go to her home and Babar promised to marry her when the time would be right. She claimed that she got pregnant in 2015 and when Babar knew that she severely tortured her and later forced me into the abortion with the help of his two friends and brother.

Hameeza claimed that Usman Qadir also knew about the whole episode. She said Babar forced her to return to her home and reconcile with her family. She claimed that Babar have an illicit relationship with her and as he entered into the world of fame and came into the limelight, his lust continued to increase manifolds. She said that Babar abuse and tortured her physically many times and kept having her medical check-ups from different hospitals.

Hameeza said that she had all documentary and video proofs in support of her allegations.
