Bad news for students as stationery rates hiked by 200%

As the new academic year is about to kick off, the parents of the school-going children was hit by another wave of inflation as the prices of essential stationery has gone up manifold, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday. 

The price of paper has been increased from Rs75 per kg to Rs185 per kg. 

On the other hand, the price of copy, photocopy and printer paper pack has also been increased from Rs480 to Rs950 in the market.  

The price of book board imported has been raised from Rs180 per kg to Rs350 per kg.

Traders at Urdu Bazaar in Lahore revealed that there a whopping rise in the stationery rates during the last few months which will directly impact the common man.

The traders appealed to the government to reign in the local paper mills while also sought relief in the form of decrease in duty imposed on imported papers.
