Prime Minister Imran Khan has extended his felicitations to the nation on securing an agreement with the Barrick Gold for the development of Reko Diq mine after 10 years of legal battles and negotiations hoping that it will usher in a new era of development and prosperity, besides creating 8000 new jobs in Balochistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In his tweet uploaded on Sunday, the prime minister wrote: “I congratulate the nation & ppl of Balochistan on successful agreement with Barrick Gold for development of RekoDiq mine after 10 years of legal battles & negotiations. Penalty of approx $11 billion is off set, $10 billion will be invested in Balochistan creating 8,000 new jobs.”
