Five dacoits killed in ‘police encounters’ in Punjab and Sindh cities

As many as five dacoits were killed in police encounters in different cities of Punjab and Sindh, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

Two dacoits killed in police encounter at Pakpattan

Two dacoits were killed while their accomplice managed to flee allegedly in a police encounter in the jurisdiction of Malika Hans police station at Pakpattan.  

Police said a constable was injured in firing by the dacoits and was shifted to DHQ Hospital.

Giving details, the police said that some suspected persons sitting on two bikes opened fire at the cops when they signaled them to stop for checking.

A heavy police contingent reached the site of the incident and the hunt for the third dacoit was launched.

Dacoit killed in police encounter in Gujranwala

A dacoit was killed when he was hit by a bullet fired by his accomplices allegedly in a police encounter near Pindi bypass in Gujranwala.

The deceased had killed a man named Zakarya in front of his wife when he resisted the robbery bid a few days ago.

As per the police’s version, cops were taking Abu Bakr, a suspect, in a van for recovery when they came under fire from his four accomplices who were mounted on a bike.

Consequently, the police added, the suspect was killed in firing by his own accomplices who managed to flee from the spot, taking advantage of the darkness.   

The Force further said that a heavy police contingent soon reached the site of the incident and launched hunt for the dacoit’s accomplices.

Dacoit killed in police encounter in Kabirwala

Ashraf Billa, a notorious dacoit, was killed when he fell prey to a bullet by his own accomplices allegedly in a police encounter at Kot Bahadur in the jurisdiction of Saddar police station, Kabirwala.

According to the police, Billa was wanted in connection with a number of dacoities.

Police said that soon after learning about the incident, DSP Circle Kabirwala Syed Ijaz Hussain Bukhari, accompanied by a large police contingent, reached the site of the encounter.  

The body of the deceased was later shifted to hospital.

It may be mentioned here that SHO Saddar Kabirwala Mehr Nawaz Sial, who was included in the police party, has remained involved in the killing of an innocent citizen in an encounter held previously.

Dacoit killed in police encounter in Nawabshah

Similarly in tehsil Sakrand, Nawabshah in Sindh, a dacoit was killed allegedly in a police encounter.

Police said the encounter took place near village Isa Keriyo.

Elaborating further, the police said that some dacoits opened fire at a police van while it was on routine patrolling.   

Police retaliated, the Force said, adding resultantly a dacoit lost his life while his two accomplices managed to flee from the spot.

The Force said that the slain dacoit had been identified as Kamran Hakrro, who was the resident of a suburban village of Naushero Feroze, and was wanted in connection with several cases.  

Hunt for the deceased’s accomplices had been launched, the police added.
