An underground gas explosion at the Jalat Khan Coal Company’s administered coalmine in the Zardalu area of Harnai has led to a catastrophic situation where ten miners were initially trapped inside the mine, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Monday.

The district administration has confirmed the event and is currently overseeing the rescue operations.

As the news of the explosion spread, eight additional miners descended into the depths to aid their colleagues, only to find themselves ensnared by the same fate due to the underground gas.

The district administration of Harnai has reported that a total of 18 miners are now trapped inside the coal mine.

Rescue teams are working tirelessly to reach the miners, as their families and the community wait in hopeful anticipation for their safe return.
