Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma’s marriage ends in divorce
Popular Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and choreographer Dhanashree Verma have officially divorced each other, confirmed by their lawyer during the Bombay High Court.
Following this initiative, Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma were spotted arriving at the Bandra Family Court along with their legal teams for the final divorce hearing.
Shortly after the court proceedings, the cricketer was spotted leaving the court premises.
On a query about the alimony amount, the cricketer’s lawyer refused to respond by saying; "Nothing, no more comments."
Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma have been living separately for over two and a half years. They filed the divorce on February 5, 2025.
They had asked the family court to allow them to get the divorce sooner. They requested the court to finalise their case without having to explore possibilities of maintaining their marriage.
A six-month cooling-off period was required by section 13B of the Hindu Marriage Act before the divorce can be legally granted. When the couple filed for divorce, they stated ‘compatibility issues' as the primary cause for their split.
