PM Shehbaz, Egyptian President exchange Eid greetings, discuss Middle East tensions

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation on Friday evening with President of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, during which the two leaders exchanged greetings on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The conversation took place in a warm and cordial atmosphere, with the prime minister extending Eid greetings to President Sisi and the people of Egypt. The Egyptian president reciprocated with his best wishes for the prime minister and the people of Pakistan.

During the call, the prime minister reaffirmed the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Egypt and reiterated Islamabad’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation across all areas of mutual interest.

He also appreciated Egypt’s constructive diplomatic role in regional and international affairs, particularly its efforts aimed at promoting peace in the Middle East.

The two leaders discussed the evolving situation in Iran and the Gulf region, expressing deep concern over ongoing tensions. They agreed to continue diplomatic engagement to help de-escalate the situation and promote peace and stability in the region.
