Punjab govt decides to establish first Skill City for youth
The Punjab government has decided to establish first Skill City for youth and Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has given approval of the project, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Chairing a special meeting in Lahore on Friday, CM Maryam Nawaz sought proposals and plans for Punjab’s first Skill City project.
Technical education institutes will be established in the Skill City project in line with the needs of the industry.
Skill education institutions will be made centers of excellence in Punjab.
The meeting agreed to merge Punjab’s Technical Vocational Education Board with institutions in Scotland and the UK.
According to plan youth will be given technical and practical education according to the needs of the industry.
Aim of the plan is to enable youth to get good jobs after matriculation.
Under the project, technical courses in graphic designing, media production, fashion designing, data coding and tourism expert will be conducted.
Industrial electrification, plumbing, solar water heating system, professional chef and allied health professional education will also be provided under the project.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif ordered to get the services of the best teachers for technical education.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed to get syllabus designed by experts from industrial institutions for technical education.
Maryam Nawaz said I want every youth of Punjab to be unparalleled talented and unique in their art.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif said we will make the youth force the real power of Punjab through technical education.
We will utilize all resources to provide technical education to the youth in line with the needs of the market, Maryam Nawaz said.
