Coronavirus toll rises to 985 with 46 new deaths in Pakistan

As Pakistan is still waiting for reaching its peak when it comes to new coronavirus cases, the virus was found in another 1,932 people during the past 24 hours, increasing the total to 45,898 on Wednesday morning.
Meanwhile, the country recorded 46 more deaths during the same period, meaning 985 people have died of the coronavirus since the outbreak of this pandemic.
According to the figures released by National Command and Operation Centre, 13,962 people were tested for the virus during the past 24 hours after which the total number of tests conducted in the country has jumped to 414,254.
On the other hand, 13,101 patients have so far fully recovered from the infection while there are 31,812 active cases in the country.
As far as the region-wise distribution of confirmed coronavirus cases is concerned, Sindh tops the list with 17,947 infected people. It is followed by 16,685 in Punjab, 6,554 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 2,885 in Balochistan, 1,138 in Islamabad, 556 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 133 in Azad Kashmir.
Similarly, most of number of deaths are reported from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where 345 people have died so far. Details of other provinces and regions are: Sindh 299, Punjab 289, Balochistan 38, Islamabad nine, Gilgit-Baltistan four and Azad Kashmir one.
