In an important development for the matriculation students in Punjab, the provincial health department gave a go-ahead to examination boards for marking of 10th grade papers from the first week of June.

24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday that the health department has given permission for marking of matriculation examinations and 20-point SOPs in this regard have been agreed for marking at 156 centres of Punjab including Lahore.

The education department decided that the result should be released in early September.

As per the TV channel, 50 marks of practical will be given to all students equally while remaining 50 percent marks will be given in proportion to the theory exams.

The 10th class theory exams had already been conducted and now the Punjab Health Department cleared the way for holding the exercise of marking the papers.

It is pertinent to note that due to the Covid-19 outbreak the Punjab government had postponed the practical exams of the 10th class for all secondary education boards in the province.

The boards included Multan Board, DG Khan Board, Sahiwal Board, Lahore Board, Sargodha Board, Rawalpindi Board, Faisalabad Board, Gujranwala Board and Bahawalpur Board.
