Three civilians seriously injured as trigger-happy Indian army soldiers opened unprovoked firing across Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir, said an ISPR statement on Wednesday.
According to the military’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Indian army troops initiated the unprovoked ceasefire violation using mortars and automatics in Nikial Sector along the LoC, deliberately targeting the civilian population.
Due to the indiscriminate fire in Khanni and Ooli villages, three innocent civilians received critical injuries, the ISPR added.
All the injured were evacuated and shifted to a hospital and were being provided medical care.
Earlier on May 18, the Indian security forces also violated the ceasefire agreement on the Line of Control (LoC). The Indian Armytargeted the civilian population in the Khoi Ratta Sector in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
As a result, a civilian in the Jajjot Village was wounded seriously in the firing by the Indian troops. He was shifted to a nearby health facility for the first aid.
The ISPR said the Indian security forces used automatic weapons to target the civilian population in Azad Kashmir.
