An ambulance is waiting for infected passengers to be carried to a quarantine centre.

As many as 60 passengers who arrived from Dubai tested positive with coronavirus at Peshawar’s Bacha Khan Airport, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

The passengers landed at Peshawar via Emirates and Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flights.

However, the passengers insisted that their tests should be conducted again as they are not satisfied with the test results. But to no avail, the second-round test results also came back affirmative.

The airport management called in the Airport Security Force (ASF) after the passengers kept on insisting that the tests were faulty.

All the CAA officers and staffers were quarantined after their test results came back positive, confirmed the airport manager.

The affected were mostly daily wagers, airport services and bridge operators.

It was reported said that these staffers caught Covid-19 apparently from passengers coming from outside the country. The airport was sprayed and disinfected on an emergency basis.
